About the team you are joining

IATA Sustainability and Economics’ core objectives are to contribute to airlines’ financial sustainability and advance the industry towards the goal of net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. In this capacity, we provide our airline members with sustainability and economic analyses, tools, and support that allows them to meet present and future obligations, measure themselves against the overall industry’s performance, and that supports their advocacy. Our division aims to be the leading research body in terms of air transportation, and we have a central role in helping to shape the thinking of the industry.
You will report to the Assistant Director, Industry Analysis, and will provide wide-ranging research and analytical support for IATA, its airline members, and key stakeholders.

What your day would be like

You will contribute to a variety of projects as well as being responsible for specific outputs. You will focus on the economic analysis of trends and drivers of the airline industry, including contributing to short-term, mid-term market monitoring and forecasts. You will also provide administrative support for the team and contribute to the successful management of projects. More specifically, you will:
Support the Assistant Director, Industry Analysis managing multiple research projects and contribute to the preparation of briefing and research documents across a range of aviation industry trends and issues.
Support the Industry Analysis team in responding to requests from member airlines and otehr stakeholders for information, data and charts.
Assist the team with the preparation of regular publications and other related presentations and reports.
Support the team in its commercial activities, such as the annual Strategic Partner Workshop.
Assist with various communication and dissemination activities across a range of channels, including social media.
Identify opportunities for, and document, process improvements within the Industry Analysis team.


We would love to hear from you if

Recent (12 months or less) Bachelor’s or Master’s in Economics, Air Transport or a related subject.
Familiarity with air transport-related data (e.g., OAG, MIDT, CAA, DDS);
Knowledge of air transport analysis and forecasting will be an advantage.
Interest in airline economics and industry analysis.
Proficiency in MS Office and working knowledge databases, statistics/econometric software (e.g., STATA), and programming (R, Python).
